Project Experience

Met SYSTEMS have a comprehensive knowledge base of all Communication and Control & Information Systems used on the underground and have played a pivotal role in the management and assurance of projects, delivering integrated solutions for station and signaling control rooms. This also includes the delivery of distributed systems such as station CCTV, OPO CCTV, SCADA, Public Address and site security systems such as Door Access Control Systems.

In addition to the above, Met SYSTEMS has worked very closely with BTP (British Transport Police) to develop guidelines and standards for data capture for criminal evidencing. The output of this has also lead to the specification of playback facilities used at most stations and control centres.

Electronic Service Update Boards (ESUBS)

Design and Installation of Electronic Service Update Boards

Met SYSTEMS Ltd has been appointed to manage the supply and installation of 200+ Electronic Service Update Boards across the underground network. The ESUB has been designed by Met SYSTEMS Ltd to meet all required industry standards whilst at the same time being of a sleek and innovative design.

Aldgate Customer Information

Aldgate customer information improvements

Providing signalling control system modifications to improve passenger information, remote monitoring of CCTV system and train departure information to the train driver and Control Centre.

Waterloo & City Line Control Room

Refurbishment works to CER

Full refurbishment of the Waterloo & City Line Control Room. This includes room refurbishment and redecoration, installation of new cabinets and equipment and the building of a new bespoke desk unit to house PC units and meet the requirements of Human Factors assessments.

Central Line Signalling Control Systems

Maintenance & Support

Met SYSTEMS were commisioned to provide second-line maintenance and support cover for the Central Line signalling control centre. The scope of the works covers the control centre in addition to line-based assets.

Train Identification Systems

Blackfriars Station Rebuild

Met SYSTEMS are currently undertaking work involving the relocation of Train Identification systems and all associated assets at Blackfriars. This work is being undertaken as part of the ongoing project to rebuild Blackfriars station.

CIS Maintenance Support

Maintenance and System Improvement Works

A second-line maintenance support contract for passenger information systems on numerous stations on the overground network.

Services include software and hardware upgrade and improvement works to increase asset life and reliability.

District Line Control Room

Relocation of District Line Control Room

Providing new control desk and systems for Long Line CCTV/PA, Traction Earth Detection, Tunnel Telephone, SCADA and other Control & Information Systems. The works also include the full design and implementation works for the control room and equipment room fit-out.

ACCAT - Jubilee Line

Adhesion Controllers Condition Assessment

Installation of an ACCAT Assessment System on the overground sections of the Jubilee Line.

This data gathering system provides concise prediction information allowing easy access to recommendations made. The application inferfaces with ADAS, the MET Office, remote moisture sensors and train bourne sensors to gather information and make accurate predictions.

Customer Information Displays

Upgrade of platform and station customer information displays

This project involves the design and installation of new customer information displays on platforms as well as station concourses.

Traction Discharge Monitoring System

Maintenance & Support

Providing full design, engineering, installation and assurance services for a remote traction monitoring system usitilising a SCADA based system to report the discharge of traction current with the train stabling area of the depot.

CCTV Recording

CCTV Digital Recording Upgrades

CCTV Digital Recording Upgrades around the entire network.

Metropolitan Line Service Control Room

Full intrusive survey and scheme design works for the full upgrade of the metropolitan Line Service control desk and associated systems. Full implementation of works currently on hold due to the clients budget constraints.

Wood Lane Station

New Wood Lane Station - Hammersmith & City Line

Engaged in the design and assurance works for cable diversion works, required to facilitate enabling works for the construction of the new station.

UPS Upgrade Works

Met SYSTEMS undertook the full design, specification, assurance and implementation of various UPS systems located at a number of London Underground stations and depots. Full remote monitoring was also provided for the ongoing monitoring and fault detection.

Remote Positive Train Identification

In order to deliver service improvements, a remote recognition system to positively identify trains at specified locations was requested by London Underground.
The Remote Positive Train Identification (RPTI) system has been developed to provide the necessary functionality to fulfil the requirement set out by LUL.

Hammersmith & City Information Systems

Customer Information Improvements

Improve passenger information on the Hammersmith & City line at Edgware Road, Paddington (main) to High Street Kensington, Baker Street Station (platform 5) and between Liverpool Street to Baker Street.

White City Development Bus Station

White City Bus Station Communication Systems

Project Management and Assurance Engineering for all communication systems, including PA, CCTV and site security. Also providing systems integration management with LUL and Shopping Complex Systems.

White City Development Sidings

16 Road Underground Sidings at White City

Management and design assurance works for Central Line Signalling Control System. This included the development of new and modifications to existing systems.

Management for all Communications assets for the new development, including CCTV, PA, Security Systems and Control Rooms for both on site and satellite locations.

Jubilee Line Extension Project
